This year’s Carnival Revue is titled ‘A Trip Down Memory Lane’ and contains some old favourites as well as some newer material, ending with an Old Time Music Hall section. The female stars of the Music Hall at the beginning of the 20th Century, like Florrie Forde and Marie Lloyd, were hugely instrumental in obtaining improvements in women’s rights. Indeed, in 1907 Marie Lloyd – known as the Queen of the Halls – led a music hall strike, demanding fair pay and we feel it is important to keep the memories alive and not the lose the traditions.

We will be marking the 200th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Natonal Lifeboat Institution with some sea shanties, there will be a Cowboy and Indian section, and a tribute to Dad’s Army, to mention just a few!
