Young people between the ages of 9 and 16 may join the Athelstan Players as junior members. We aim to give a happy and enjoyable stage experience to any youngsters who would like to 'have a go'. No previous acting or dancing experience is necessary. Due to stage space, we are restricted to just twelve young people being involved at any one time but we do keep a waiting list for those who would like to be a part of the group when an opportunity comes up.

 

Typically, junior members take part in the Carnival Revue at the start of August and the annual pantomime at the end of November. Generally, rehearsals begin around 10 to12 weeks before a production is due and take place in the drama studio on Saturday mornings, between 10.30 and 12.00 .

It is never too soon to get your name on the waiting list, even before your ninth birthday, as when you reach the age of nine if there is a space it is first offered to the person at the top of the list.
